By 1931, Bourjois had made Evening in Paris available across the world and it became the leading Bourjois series by 1934. Its popularity helped insulate the company from the worst economic effects of the Great Depression.
The Evening in Paris range included all the usual items found in an extended Bourjois series including Evening in Paris Eau de Toilette, Bath Crystals, Face Powder, Dusting Powder, Compact, Lipstick, and Rouge. Demand peaked towards Christmas and the company introduced new gift sets, novelties, and coffrets at the end of the year specifically for this market in a range of prices to suit different budgets.

I am not so sure of the date to this little faux tortoiseshell mottled plastic case and miniature bottle - but I think that it is a bit later than my other 30s items. But it remains an attractive and collectable item for the collector of vintage perfumes.
The box is in pristine condition with a gold decorative border on the lid and a fancy gold letter B in the center. On opening the box you will find a fresh clean mirror in the lid - and a gold insert in the base which contains a little vintage glass bottle of Evening in Paris perfume. The bottle is 2/3 full of perfume - probably due to evaporation over the years. The bottle to the top of the stopper is 6 cm. It is 3 cm at its widest point.
The case measures: 9 x 8 x 2 cm. The gold inset can easily be removed and you can use the case for business cards or other little personal accessories and popped into your handbag or kept on your dressing table.
This is a fair price for this vintage Bourjois collectable novelty perfume bottle. I am pricing it at £25. It remains a rather rare Bourjois item.
