This is a collectable piece of mid-century Cornish Studio Pottery.
It was made by Peter Ellery at TREMAEN Pottery, Newlyn in Cornwall, established in 1965. He often produced large scale pieces, employing unconventional techniques in both construction and glazing. Sadly, the recession of the early 1980s created increasing economic difficulties for the pottery and in 1988 Peter Ellery decided to close his wonderful pottery.
This is a lovely 60s smaller, but still very collectable, stoneware pebble shaped vase. It is in perfect condition. It sadly does not retain its original paper label. The little vase has been inspired by pebbles found on a Cornish beach - and it has striped sandy colours reflecting different sedimentary rock layers. I love the little inclusion of the holes at the top and the pot's irregular shape.
Dimensions: Height is 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm). This width at the widest is 3 1/2 inches (9 cm).
It is in excellent condition with no damages. I have taken a lot of images for your inspection.
