This is a lovely little breakfast set. It consists of a dainty teapot, two cups and saucers, an open sugar bowl, and a milk jug. It comes with a single plate (as issued) to serve little breakfast fancies on.
The set was made by Crown Staffordshire - in fine bone china. It is a rose and blossom pattern - love the little rose added to the inside of the cups at the bottom. The pieces are marked with the Registration number: Reg No. 622 735. I think some of the other blooms include a passion flower.
The pattern is more country cottage - think Mis Marple drinking tea from this and chatting about all the village gossip! It probably dates to around the late 1940s / early 1950s. Very British rustic patio breakfast-sized set and so utterly charming!
It has a white coloured ground and on top of this is a pretty pattern of pink roses and little flower heads. There is gold gilding around the spout, handle, rim, lid, and on the knop of the lid of the teapot. The other pieces have similar gold embellishments.
All pieces are in excellent condition with no damages. These fine Crown Staffordshire sets are always sought after and fetch attractive prices. My asking price here is certainly a fair one as it is in such nice condition, has a harder-to-find pattern and is of good quality.
The dimensions are as follows the teapot is 5 1/4 inches in height. The diameter at the widest is 4 inches and from spout to handle it is 6 1/2 inches. The teacups are 2 1/4 inches high and with a diameter of 3 1/2 inches. From the handle to the opposite rim - it is 4 inches. The saucers are 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The little dainties plate is 5 inches in diameter. The sugar bowl is 2 1/4 inches in height and 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The milk jug is 2 3/4 inches in height and from the handle to the spout it is 3 1/2 inches.

HISTORY: Crown Staffordshire began producing china in 1889. They rapidly expanded to become the largest manufacturer of bone china in the Potteries area in the post-war years. In the 1960s and 1970’s the company struggled with its finances. Many other China producers were closing at this time because of growing labour costs and also diminishing sales. Wedgwood purchased the company in 1973 and continued production under the Crown Staffordshire name until 1985.
