This is a one of a little group of novelty glasses that I am listing. I have had all of these for a very long time - and just found in a box all packed away - so they are completely fresh to the market.
THIS SET HAS FOUR GLASSES IN TOTAL - BUT i HAVE ANOTHER SET LISTED. So there are a total of 8 of them available in two lots in my online store.
They all date to the 1930s / 1940s at the latest. They are now rather collectable and have these priced at £8 each glass - this is a fair price.
This set consists of the four little miniature stemmed glasses for liqueurs or wee drams. The decoration is all hand-painted with enamels. Each glass has a matched decoration showing a little farmyard cockerel or rooster. Standing with pushed out chest - and probably ready to crown in the dawn. Each glasses has nice bands of gold on the rim, below the bowl on the top of the stem and on the rim of the foot.
The height of each glass is 4 inches. The rim diameter is 3 inches and the foot diameter is 2 1/4 inches.
All the items here are in good vintage condition - there are no damages or chips. All the paintwork to the images is in good condition. They probably date to the 1930s - when these type of glasses for cocktails were very popular.
