This is a very rare large 1950s "Kongo" Vase designed by Bodo Mans for Bay Ceramic.
The vase is adorned overall with colourful enameled egg-shaped patches on a dark brown matte ground; incised mark to underside
It is a stunning piece of vintage West German pottery - and as certainly a bit of a showstopper when on display. It dates to the late 1950s / early 1960s.
It is a nice globular vase shape. It is 13 inches in height with a diameter at the widest of 8 1/4 inches. The rim at the top is 5 1/2 inches. and the base has a diameter of 5 inches.
It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. These large pieces don't come up on the market that often.
It is a bit of a stonker coming in at 2.2 kg unpacked. This means that sadly I will be unable to post outside of the UK.
Postage in the UK will be with Parcelforce24. It will be very carefully packed to post to you. This will be capped at £14.95 and applied to your order at the checkout.
