This is a very rare and highly collectable little Edwardian hallmarked silver stand for a pocket watch. It might be used for traveling or for popping onto your nightstand with your watch hanging from the little hook at the front.
It is a rather quirky design and is fashioned to look like a large wishbone.
It is hallmarked on the side at the front for the year 1906 (Birmingham). It has the maker's mark for Mark Willian Hutton and Sons. The base section is weighted with lead inside to make it heavy and to hold the weight of the watch in balance.
It is in excellent condition with no damage. Your watch would have from the little hook on the front. These little watch stands were special novelty items made for rich Edwardian gentlemen - and are now rare survivors.
The height is 9.5 cm. The base measures 5.5 x 3 cm. This is a special item for an antique pocket watch collector - they will know how hard it is to source these holders. My asking price of £185 is a very fair one.
UK Postage would be capped at £4.95 for Royal Mail Special Next Day Delivery post - this will be applied to your order at the checkout.
