This is a genuine mid-century vintage Leopard ( Panthera Pardus ) Skin Cigarette Case.
It is in lovely condition with no losses to the fur. It came to me from a specialist collector who had a large collection of antique and vintage cigarette cases and smoking paraphernalia. The collection sold some years ago at Bonhams in Edinburgh.
As you can see from my photographs - it is in excellent, clean condition with no damage. The case is a hard metal one - with real leopard fur on the top and bottom. A gold-tone trim goes around the edges. The case is hinged along the shortest side. At the other side there is a little catch to secure the case shut.
On opening the case you can see a matt old gold-coloured interior. There are also on each side the original little elastic straps to hold small-size cigarettes in. I have just popped in one of my business cards - and this fits inside perfectly - so you could now use this as a business card case. There are no nasty smells with the case - and I don't think that it has ever been used. You will not be disappointed with it.
Dimensions: exterior length is 3 3/4 inches. The width is 2 1/2 inches. The depth is 3/4 inch. Inside each side is 3 3/8 inches x 2 3/8 inches.
It comes from the early 20th century - and not a modern item. It is more of a historical piece and these items are thankfully no longer being made today. You do not find them easily today.
Due to customs restrictions - I would only be able to post this to UK addresses. The will cost £4.95 and applied to your order at the checkout.
