This is certainly a very stunning paperweight to add to your collection. It was designed by the glass maestro at Caithness Glass, Colin Terris (1937 - 2006).
This one is called SPACE FLOWER and it is a much sought after one - and rather rare!
This early weight is another lovely one designed by Terris and made by Peter Holmes. The weight features an exotic flower (formed like a white halo with rising red tendrils) floating in the centre as it might do in space. The exterior has a satin finish. This was specialist Caithness technique and it allowed the polished viewing facet at the front to act almost as a "window into space".
On the flat polished base is the engraving 'Caithness, Space Flower, Scotland'. This paperweight comes complete with original box and certificate. It is a limited edition of 1000, this weight is numbered 396.
The condition of the weight is excellent with no marks or chips. It is 3 inches in height and has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches.
