This is an interesting 1970s perfume or scent bottle. It was made at Caithness Glass and made by Peter Holmes who was working there at this time. The stopper of the bottle has a PH cane used by Holmes.
It is a stunning Scottish Glass bottle. The base section of the bottle has a thin dark glass ground - the top of which is sprinkled with multi-coloured glass flakes. From the centre issue a splash of glass - again made to multi-coloured fushed glass - the peaks of the splash section reach up the bottle, toward the internal well - where a large internal bubble holds your perfume.
The bottle has its original stopper - again with matching multi-colour melted glass flakes - in the centre is the Peter Holmes cane. The stopper fits neatly into the neck of the bottle.
My perfume bottle is a lovely shape and it is in excellent condition with no damage. It was difficult for me to photograph this item - with the internal well for the perfume and all the reflections. I think that it probably looks better in "real life" than in my photographs.
The bottle is a nice large size. The height from the base to the top of stopper is 5 1/2 inches. The diameter of the body section, as the widest point is 3 inches. Unpacked it weighs 660 grams.
