This is a vintage powder compact for pressed face powders.
It is unmarked with any maker's name - but it looks like other ones that I have and these were made by Melissa.
It dates to the late 1950s or early 1960s.
It is in excellent condition and is nice and clean. It was designed to hold a standard-size cake of pressed powder. It still retains the empty silver metal base from one of those powder cake packages - I have left this in the compact (in case you wish to add loose powder in there) - but it is very easy to remove.
The main body is gold-tone - and the top of the lid has a floral design with blue, pink and white flowers. It is a very pretty mid-century pressed powder compact.
The mirror inside the lid is clean and without marks or spots on the surface.
The diameter is 7 cm (2 3/4 inches).
I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
My asking price reflects its age and its exceptional condition.
UK postage will be with Royal Mail and it will cost £2.45 and applied at check-out.
