This is a collectable 1970s decanter which was designed by the celebrated Danish designer, Per Lutken.
It was made for Holmegaard Glass and it is very minimalistic in styling. It comes from the Danica range of Holmegaard glass.
A nice large piece and it would certainly look fabulous in your Holmegaard glass collection.
Sadly it is unsigned but has the typical Holmegaard pontil mark. The main body colour is a pale smoky grey tone. It has a large solid ball shaped stopper and a large dimple or indentation on each side of the decanter. They dimple does not go through the center completely and the liquids flow around this decorative inclusion. There is a thick curled over rim at the top with a shaped lip to make pouring things from it much easier.
A fine larger piece with an overall height of 9 1/2 inches. The diameter of the main body section is just over 5 1/2 inches - and it is 3 inches in depth. Unpacked it is 1 kg.
In excellent vintage condition with no damages.
A lovely piece of vintage Scandinavian glass by a renowned and collectable designer, and a great piece for display on your vintage teak bureau or Ladderex shelves.
