This is a stylish 1960s minimalistic tall Danish glass vase design by Pe Lutken (1916 – 1998) (although often attributed to Christer Holmgren) for Holmegaard Glassworks, Kastrup.
It is called a Candlestick or Hooped Vase and is made of scarlet red and white cased glass. The design dates to 1968.
The Carnaby series commenced in 1968 and the run only lasted to 1976. All pieces were hand-blown into moulds and they were never mass-produced. So they are now rather scarce and much sought after.
It is in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There are a couple of tiny scratches to the clear glass casing near the base - they are very superficial and you cannot see these on display - but only visible in raking light. I have priced accordingly.
The height is 10 inches. The base is just under 3 inches. The top is 2 1/4 inches in diameter.
