This is one of two little 1930s Scottish Art Pottery twin-handled bowls that I have in my online store.
The other one has pretty butterflies on the outside of the bowl. This one is a more simple design - the exterior of the bowl is a plain yellow colour and the interior has a simple Art Deco geometric pattern.
These little bowls relate to the work being done at the time in Scotland - especially at Bough and Mak Merry Potteries - where ladies were encouraged to take up ceramic decorating - they were supplied with blank pieces to paint their own decorations on - and these were subsequently glazed and fired.
As you can see this one is in nice condition with no chips or cracks - it must date to the early 1930s - it is nearly the same size as my other quaich - so I suspect that the blanks came from the same factory - possibly Maling.
Dimensions: the main body is 5 3/4 inches in diameter with a height of 2 1/4 inches. From handle to handle - it is 7 3/4 inches. The wee bowl weighs 270 grams unpacked.
This dish will be sent to you in the UK with Royal Mail Recorded Post - this will cost £4.95 and will be applied to your order at the check out.
