This is a very attractive matched pair of antique Scottish Art Pottery vases.
The decoration is very pretty and reminiscent of some Wemyss ware items from about the same time.
Each vase is 6 inches in height. The diameter at the rim is 2 3/4 inches. The diameter at the base is 3 1/2 inches. As you can see the base sweeps out and makes these vases very stable.
Both are in excellent condition and look fabulous on display. Neither vase has chips or cracks - there is a little fine antique craquelure to the surface - which is commensurate with age and the type of glaze used on this pottery. Please look at my images on the listing in close-up view.
It is amazing that these pieces have survived in this condition given that they are now about 140 years old - and it looks as if they could have been made only yesterday.
They are listed at £40 each - so £80 for the pair.
The decoration is very pretty and comes from the Abbotsford range made in Kirkcaldy in Fife.
