These are a pair of very pretty little antique Scottish pottery plates.
On offer here are the TWO plates shown in the photographs.
They date to around the 1920s / 1930s and are hand-painted.
They are painted on pottery "blanks" - and are probably by one of the East Coast potteries: Bough or Mak Merry.
The earthenware blanks were probably supplied by Maling and Sons, Newcastle-on-Tyne, and used by one of the East Coast, Scottish Art Potteries.
There are no Mak Merry or Bough marks on the base. But an artist's signature: L. McK. So perhaps a trainee painter at the pottery.
They are certainly very painterly - with a pattern on purple flowers and red and green apples. There is a big sunshine yellow band to the center. Each plate is in pretty good condition with no chips or cracks.
There is one issue with the decoration on one plate - where one of the flowers has had one of the purple flowers smudged. This has been done in the making - and is under the glaze. I have photographed this for you.
CONDITION: In good condition for pieces now 90 years old - with no chips or cracks. Fabulous display pieces for hanging on your wall or standing in your china cabinet.
The diameter of each plate is 8 inches.
UK Postage with Royal Mail will be £5.50 and applied at the checkout.
