These are attractive antique Scottish pottery items. A little trio set - consisting of a cup, saucer, and side plate. I have also added another slightly larger side plate to this lot as it has a matching pattern.
There are four pieces (as photographed) and are all made by Mak Merry. They are marked to the base Mak Merry apart from the smaller of the side plates which is unmarked.
They are all made by Mak Merry.
They each have a matching pattern with autumn fruits and berries) set against a white and pale lemon background.
They date to around the 1920s / 1930s and are hand-painted.
They are painted on pottery "blanks" - and are signed on the base: Mak Merry
The china blanks were probably made and supplied by Maling and Sons, Newcastle-on-Tyne.
Dimensions: The cup is of a larger size and is 2 1/4 inches in height with a diameter at the rim is 4 inches (£25). The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/2 inches (£5) and the side plates are 6 inches (£15) and 7 3/4 inches.(£25).
CONDITION: They are all in fine condition and display well. No chips or cracks. There is a flaw in the making of the large plate - it looks like it was squashed when the clay with still damp and before firing. It is glazed over - so in the making of the "blank". I have taken a close-up photograph of you to assess.
These are such lovely Mak Merry ceramics - and they are listed at a fair price for these vintage Scottish Art Pottery pieces.
