This is an attractive Scottish pottery ceramic quaich that dates to around 1925.

The decoration is hand-painted by Richard Amour (his monogram is on the base).

The decoration is painted onto a blank. It was common in the early 20th century for small Scottish potteries to have white ceramics supplied and decorators would paint the decoration on the blanks.

This fine ceramic quaich is a rarer Bough item and has a more unusual pattern.  It has a central reserve inside which is painted with two acorns and acorn leaves. Around the inner side is a hand-painted dark purple band. There are single acorns on each lug handle. The exterior of the quaich is white - with a thick yellow band at the top.  The under-plate has the same shade of purple back with green dots around the rim. This plate is 5 inches in diameter.

The quaich and under=plate are numbered 100 U. So annotated as a matching pair by Richard, as photographed.

These pieces are really attractive pieces of Scottish pottery.

The dishes are in good condition for being nearly 100 years old - they have no nasty chips or cracks.  It is in fine antique condition and looks good on display.

Dimensions: 4 inches in diameter with a height of 1 3/4 inches. From handle to handle it is 6 inches.

Unpacked it is 260 grams in weight.

UK Postage will be with Royal Mail Recorded Post (Small Parcel) this will be applied to your order at the checkout.
