This is a wee set of six Midwinter Mexicana pattern dessert plates.
This is the ORIGINAL 1960s hand-painted Mexicana pattern which was designed by Jessie Tait- a printed version was re-launched later by the Marquis of Queensferry.
Jessie Tait (1928 - 2010) studied at the Burslem School of Art. She first worked as a junior designer to Charlotte Rhead and then as a designer for the Midwinter Pottery between 1946 and 1974.
The original pattern dates to the mid-1960s. The warm colours are taken from Mexican pottery and are painted in short lines around the rim.
They are all in good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or staining.
With the usual Midwinter Stylecraft mark on the base as photographed.
Each plate has a diameter of 8 3/4 inches.
Due to the weight - postage in the UK will have to be charged at £10 with Parcelforce-tracked delivery. This is a fair price for this collectable pattern - by Tait (and not the Queensferry ones!).
