This is a fine decorative piece - and will look great on a mantlepiece or period Victorian interior.
It is slightly more unusual in that this piece was designed to hold a pocket watch or small travelling clock - and so act as a clock. There is a little semi-circular bright orange ceramic bracket on the back - to hold your watch in.
Dating to around the 1880s.
The model shows a couple who are standing beside a bough covered with a fruiting vine. In between the couple at their feet, sits a little black and white dog. The lady holds a little white lamb with mottled brown patches under her arm. The gentleman is standing to her side - he has a long stock-and-horn pipe.
It is certainly a very attractive and highly decorative piece.
Dimensions: 13 inches in height. It is 8 inches at the widest point and with a depth of 2 3/4 inches.
This is a lovely example that is in excellent antique condition. It displays well - and has no obvious damage. There is a little restored chip to the side on the very bottom part of the base - this is hardly visible and not seen when the model is on display. There is also a little flaw to the base in the making - which was glazed over in the firing in the kiln at the pottery. This is taken into account with my pricing.
It is a genuine 19th-century model and NOT a modern reproduction.
