These 1950s seaside designs by Alfred Meakin Pottery are just absolutely delightful.

This is a harder-to-find pattern - with is called Nice (ie the town on the French Riviera).

I have a few pieces of dinnerware in this pattern available in my store - and when they are gone... sadly have no more!

UPDATE: ONLY THREE ARE NOW LEFT (DEC 2021).

This dinner or dessert plate is 9 inches in diameter.

Of course, good postal discounts would apply if you are interested in more than one item.

The plate has three stylized vignettes - to the left-hand side a little French sailor sitting below a stripey umbrella drinking a large glass of vin rouge! At the top is a little yacht with a red sail on the sea, and finally a little harbour cottage to the right.

The plate is in pretty good condition - tiny bits of rubbing to the thin line of gilding on the edge - but nothing distracting. A few little cutlery marks to the surface glaze - really only seen when the plate is turned to a raking light - but again only commensurate with age.

The decoration is all intact and fresh and bright.

A lovely set and great to bring out for celebrations or special dinner parties - or just for display in your 50s kitchen.

This is dinner plate is 9 inches in diameter

Will be sad to part with them - but my husband is not the best person in the world in the land of washing up!

Probably just for UK posting only - as the weight factor would make it quite expensive to send outside of the UK.
