This unusual little necklace features Willy the Koala. He was the mascot used to promote the Australian Olympic Team at various Games over the years. I think that this pendant dates to 1984 (with the J.L. Patching certificate) and was issued to coincide with the Games held in Los Angeles.
It comes with its certificate of authentication - stating that it is in a very limited edition and is covered in 22 ct gold plating. The certificate has a facsimile signature of Julius L. Patching - who was Secretary General of the Australian Olympic Committee from 1973-1985.
Here we have a little commemorative pendant or necklace showing Willy running - one leg is out in front of him and the other is kicked up behind him, as photographed. The chain is nice and clean and has a ring catch. The certificate of authentication is a little crinkled but could possibly be flattened out better. I have listed it at a very fair price as not many of these appear on the market that often.
I am listing the necklace with free postage in the UK for collectors of Olympic memorabilia - if you are interested outside the UK - please get in touch and I can give you an International Postage Rate.
