This is a nice piece of antique British Glass that dates to around the 1830s. It is a minimalistic shape - which fits well with period and more modern or contemporary interiors.
It is a lovely shape and has three applied glass hoops or rings on the neck section.
It comes with its original decorative mushroom-shaped stopper. This is in good condition - and a rare survivor these are often lost or damaged over the years.
It has been hand-blown with a polished pontil mark on the base. It is in excellent antique condition with no clouding inside.
I can't believe this little decanter / or carafe has survived all this time in such a fine condition. It has no chips or cracks but does have some minor condition issues which occurred in the making of the vessel. These are two little internal lines in the bottom two hoops (as photographed) that were formed when the glass was blown and started to cool. The cooling frissures are within the glass - and there is no external cracking where they occur.
There is also a little white bubble or inclusion near the foot - again as photographed. I have priced this item to take this into account. It looks just fine on display or being used - and the little "making" flaws are only really noticeable on close up inspection.
Dimensions: 9 1/2 inches in height. It has a diameter of 3 1/3 inches at the widest point.
I think that I have listed this at a bargain price given its age and condition. I have taken a lot of images for your inspection.
