This is an attractive early 20th-century brass wall sconce.
It has a little square drip tray below which also holds the holder for the candle - this is firmly attached to the sconce through the base with three rivets. The edges of the tray are folded to give extra strength.
The light from your candle would be reflected in the shiny brass backplate. This is a tall oblong shape decorated with a repousse sunflower design. The circular area at the top contains the flower head - and the oblong backing has two simple leaves that are entwined.
The front is nice and clean and polished to give off a golden gleam. The back of the sconce has a darker patina of age - as photographed.
It is in good antique condition - with no dents and it displays well. It has its two original hanging hooks are wire on the back.
