I love this lovely wall charger which was made for Crown Ducal by Charlotte Rhead and is fully signed on the back, as photographed.
It is the very pretty Persian Rose pattern that was designed by Charlotte Rhead,
It is pattern No. 4040 as annotated on the back and dated to the 1930s - so a lovely Art Deco example.
It is a fine design with raised tube lines decoration and with an attractive all-over floral pattern with large yellow, pink, and blue flowers and lots of olive green leaves.
It is a medium size - measuring 12 1/2 inches in diameter (31.5 cm).
There are two holes in the charger on the back so that you can hang it for display on your wall. It is also fully marked on the back with the decorator's mark and the pattern number.
A lovely decorative piece of Charlotte Rhead ceramics from the 1930s - the design is a timeless one and it remains as stylish today as it was when first made.
It is sold in excellent vintage condition with no damages, cracks, or chips. It has a very light craquelure to the glaze (as you often find on these Crown Ducal plates). This is obvious only on very close-up inspection. This fine plate comes from my own private collection - I am currently having some renovation work done at home - and this has been removed from the wall - and I have decided it might be time to re-home it - it has been with me for over 20 years now.
