These are a fine pair of antique Victorian Staffordshire dogs - they take the form of a pair of seated chimney spaniels.
They are genuine Victorian examples, and definitely NOT reproductions.
They are nicely modelled examples with no chips or cracks - they have yellow painted eyes. They are a matched pair, as created. They have a burnt orange bands around their muzzles.
Each dog has a little gold-coloured collar with a padlock on it - the padlock and chain on each dog have some rubbing and quite a lot of losses to the gilding - but this is common on these old Victorian examples. There are two air holes in the back of each dog, as photographed.
They are fine display pieces - and will look fabulous on a mantlepiece or old-fashioned kitchen dresser. They are a smaller pair- and these are perfect for a today's interiors. The smaller ones are often harder to find. Apart from losses to the old gold gilt - there are no damages, cracks or chips on my dogs.
Height: 8 1/2 inches. Width: 6 inches and the depth (at the widest) is 4 inches.
They are heavy ones just over 2 kg in weight, unpacked. I will therefore have to send to you with Parcelforce24. This will cost just over £10 to post and this will be applied to your order at the checkout.
