This is a stylish pair of vintage Edinburgh Crystal slender glasses or champagne flutes. Ideal for sipping sparkly summer wines.
They are a match pair. I have another four listed but they had subtle difference to the engraved star on the foot. This pair the star touches the outside edge of the foot (the four listed the star does not quite touch the edge, they are all hand engraved - hence these little differences). I have photographed the stars on these ones for your inspection.
They are in excellent condition with no damage. They are not signed on the base - but are definitely the attractive and modernist Symphony pattern. This pattern has vertical cuts, a slender smooth stem and to trim, as shown below. This design is a harder to find one - and is perhaps a more contemporary one.
They measure as follows: 8 1/2 inches in height. The rim has a diameter of 1 3/4 inches. The foot is 2 1/2 inches. When tapped they have a beautiful ring, which is a mark of quality.

History: The Edinburgh and Leith Flint Glassworks was established in the 1860s at Leith Walk Glassworks and later at Norton Park in Edinburgh. In 1921 the glassworks became part of Webbs Crystal Glass Company.
In 1955, The Edinburgh and Leith Glassworks became Edinburgh Crystal, and the next decade saw further expansion and eventually the demolition of the old glassworks at Norton Park and new premises at Penicuik 10 miles south of Edinburgh.
Edinburgh Crystal went into administration in July 2006. Although the brand was taken over by the Waterford / Wedgwood Group the factory no longer exists and the brand is now discontinued.
