This is a handy set of FIVE vintage Edinburgh Crystal white wine glasses (perhaps for Claret as they are slightly larger ones). Ideal for sipping sparkly summer wines out on the patio.
They are a match set of five but as they are hand engraved there is some difference on the star pattern on the foot - I have photographed each one for your inspection. Please look at these as they form part of my description.
They are in excellent condition with no damage. They are not signed on the base - but are definitely the attractive and modernist Symphony pattern. This pattern has vertical cuts, a slender smooth stem and to trim, as shown below. This design is a harder to find one - and is perhaps a more contemporary one. Please note on glass seems to have a little flaw on the foot - it is internal to the glass and appears as white flake - it is not a chip - but listed it in the set here at £5.
They measure as follows: 7 7/8 inches in height. The rim has a diameter of 2 7/8 inches. The foot is 2 1/2 inches. When tapped they have a beautiful ring, which is a mark of quality.

I am listing the set here at a very fair £15 four of the glasses - and costed up one was the little making flaw in the foot at only £5. This takes into account the relative rarity of this pattern. It is certainly a fair one!

History: The Edinburgh and Leith Flint Glassworks was established in the 1860s at Leith Walk Glassworks and later at Norton Park in Edinburgh. In 1921 the glassworks became part of Webbs Crystal Glass Company.
In 1955, The Edinburgh and Leith Glassworks became Edinburgh Crystal, and the next decade saw further expansion and eventually the demolition of the old glassworks at Norton Park and new premises at Penicuik 10 miles south of Edinburgh.
Edinburgh Crystal went into administration in July 2006. Although the brand was taken over by the Waterford / Wedgwood Group the factory no longer exists and the brand is now discontinued.
