This is a cute little Steiff collectable. It was issued as a gift to members of the Steiff Club in 2007. Each year they released a little miniature Steiff related item as special gifts.
I have six of these boxed little miniature Steiff gifts in total in my store.
This one takes the form of a little mohair elephant. It was inspired by an earlier one from the 1920s. Mr Elephant is made of dark blue mohair, and has black glass eyes and felt tusks. He has a little hanging ring and a little brass bell at the end of his trunk.
He was presented in a little miniature box with a cellophane lid - and this slotted into the centre of a larger flat carboard presentation box, as photographed. Both box and Steiff elephant are in excellent condition.
He comes with his certificate and a tiny Steiff button and white label in his ear. He is in excellent condition - and these mini-gifts are now becoming highly collectable.
