This is such an adorable little vintage limited edition Steiff Bear. He has such a cutie and I am tempted to keep him. I love these little black mohair bears. This one is now 22 years old, but looks as good as new.
This one is especially interesting as he is dressed in a little white felt waistcoat with the word JENNERS on it. I would image that he would have been dressed to be retailed in the toy department of this prestigious Edinburgh department store. I used to go in there on my lunch hour when I worked at the Gallery across the road and look at all the Steiff bears in the big glasses cases downstairs.
How strange as well that this little bear has survived from his release in 2003 - but the Victorian department store has now closed and is all boarded up for renovations.
These little limited edition "Jenners" bears and issued for Steiff Club Members are now pretty rare. My one comes with his original box and certificate. He is made of black mohair, is fully jointed. He has black button glass eyes, and a little grey embroidered nose. He has hhis white ribbon tag and button. The ribbon reads 02291.
The wee bear is a more miniature size He is just over 8 inches (21 cm) in height. He comes with his box and his certificate. He is a lovely vintage bear.
He is in excellent vintage condition, nice and clean and has been stored away and not played with.
