This is a lovely little collectable 1940s cigarette case, made by Gwenda - who are best-known for their powder compacts or compact mirrors.
This is a lovely little case - which was made to contain smaller vintage cigarettes - so would not fit more modern lengths. However, these are nowadays used as little cases to carry business cards or calling cards - or just as additions to your collection!
This is an interesting design - which shows an image of Gorey Castle, Jersey
The image is a printed one and it is covered in a clear celluloid covering. The case is made of brass and in nice vintage condition, with no dents or damages.
The interior has a little bar which originally would have held little cigarettes in place, but would hold your cards flat. The lid would have originally had a little mirror in it, but this is now missing but it would be easy for you to add a new one. This is taken into consideration with my asking price.
Dimensions: 3 1/2 inches x 3 inches (exterior).
