This is very cute - a little vintage coin bank dating to the 1930s / 1940s.
It is made of hard celluloid plastic - and takes the form of a little seated Scottie Dog or Scottish Terrier.
He has a slot in this back where you pop in little coins to save.
He is moulded in two sections and there are join seams down each side of the doggie.
Underneath is the original screw-on brown bakelite stopper. It is marked Open and Close. It has the words: Made in England and Tudor Rose Trademark.
My little dog bank is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or losses to the perspex.
The is shown wearing a little yellow Tam O'Shanter hat with a little red pom-pom.
Around his neck, he wears a little yellow plaid scarf - which matches his little yellow and sporran.
The applied paintwork is original to the bank and is in pretty good condition, given that it is now about 80 years old.
Height: about 6 ½ inches. The width from nose to tail is also about 6 ½ inches.
These 1940s celluloid dog banks are highly collectable and now hard to find.
