This is a very hard to find vintage Coffee Set in this most attractive abstract chevron pattern.
It is marked to the base with a large letter "W" for the Polish ceramics company KPM, WAWEL range.
It is a complete set and consists of the following: a Coffee Pot, Milk Jug and Sugar Bowl, and Six Cups and Six Square Saucers, all as photographed.
The set is in excellent vintage condition - dating to the late 1950s / early 1960s.
No damages to any piece.
Dimensions: the coffee pot is 8 1/4 inches in height.
The cups are 2 3/4 inches in height.
The milk jug is 3 1/2 inches in height and the sugar bowl is 3 1/2 inches.
HISTORY: This set must date to just after 1953 when the Krister Porzellan-Manufaktur (founded 1831 in Waldenburg, Silesia, Germany) started using the Wawel brand, as marked to the base of each piece in this fine set. Today the company still trades under the Porcelana KRZYSZTOF name.
This particular mid-century example is now particularly difficult to source, and this is reflected in my shop price - which is certainly a most fair one for such an iconic and attractive vintage set.
Sadly - it would have to be posted to UK addresses only.
