This is a lovely large Swedish hand decorated bowl dating to the late 1950s or early 1960s.
It has a fine image of a colourful tree on the interior of the bowl with incised lines giving texture to the design.
The decoration is all hand-painted so this is a quite unique piece.
The outer rim of the bowl has a sunshine yellow colour with pale brown sgraffito lines.
There is an impressed stamp on the base - but sadly the thick white glaze has filled in this stamp making it hard to make out what it reads. I am sure that this is the mark for the Swedish Laholm pottery - please see my other Laholm dish in my Iconic Edinburgh online shop.
A stunning bowl - and a nice large size measuring some 10 1/2 inches in diameter and with a height of about 2 1/2 inches. Great piece for display on mid-century Danish furniture.
