This is a rare and highly collectable vintage USSR / Soviet Wind Up Toy.
The toy was made in Moscow, as annotated on the original box with still survives.
The box is very fragile and in a rather shabby condition - but the pasted paper label on the top remains in a very good condition - with no fading, tears or scuffs - the main body of the box is also original - but it is starting to disintegrate - you could always create of new body quite easily as the image is good - and the rest of the box is very plain in construction (all white).
Having the original box survive is in itself rare - so even in this condition - it is certainly a bonus to have it. Especially given the excellent condition of the contents.
The game dates to the early 1950s - and takes the form of a little gymnast exercising on the high bars. The doll represents a member of Dynamo Moscow sports club.
The little gymnast is made of a fine celluloid material - and is in excellent damage free condition. NO paint losses, no losses, no cracks or chips etc.
The frame on which he exercises of made of a white coloured metal.
There is a little thin square coloured mechanism to the side - where is the mechanical action which you wind up to see the little man in his yellow leotard swinging around the frame.
My little vintage toy is in good working condition.
Height is 9 inches. The wee doll is 7 inches in height.
This toy is very rare - and the original box even more so. If you collect these vintage Soviet toys - you will know just how hard to find they are - so it is listed at a fair price - and with a little work, the box could easily be restored.
