This is a fabulous West German vase with a handle to one side.
It is a beautiful shape and also an exceptionally large size. It was designed by Kurt Tschoerner.
It was made by Ruscha pottery in the 1960s and is decorated all over with a bright red volcano glaze.
The glaze is very thick and it textured so that the green underglaze shows through - as photographed.
It is marked to the base with the number 340.
A lovely organic shape - and measures roughly 8 1/2 inches in diameter at the widest point and has a height of 9 1/2 inches.
A bit of a beast - and it weighs 1.6 kg
In excellent condition, with no damages.
A great display piece.
Sadly, the size would restrict me to posting this only to addresses in the UK. I will be using Parcelforce48 to post to you.
