This is a stunning Brutalist 1965 Czech Sklo Union clear glass jardiniere.
This 'Lens' vase was only produced in clear glass - this one is slightly harder to find as it was frosted glass finishes to the raised lens sections.
The jardiniere was designed by Frantisek Vizner for the Libochovice glassworks and is pattern no. 3236. Vizner was one of the great Czech glass designers, His work is now much sought after.
It is referenced on page 104 of Mark Hill's book - High Sklo Low Sklo where it states that "The design shows Vizner's interest in the optical opportunities afforded by the protruding lenses, as well as a feeling for simple curving lines. The size and scale of the lenses and form give a 'massive' feel. The design also represents one facet of Vizner's designs that were ahead of others - simple geometric forms decorated with strong surface elements."
Dimensions: 6 3/4 inches in length. Height is 5 inches and the depth is 3 inches.
Generally in good vintage condition.
Again, like my other jardiniere, it has a good bit of weight to it - it is nearly 1.6 kg in weight. Again - I would have to send it to you in the UK with Parcelforce48, which would be about £10.
SADLY I WILL BE UNABLE TO POST THIS ITEM OUTSIDE OF THE UK.
