I love this - it is a vintage 1960s and most wonderfully kitsch Peek Frean Biscuit Tin.
The lid has a red tartan background and in the center is an image of a Highland Glen - with a Scots Piper striding forward and blowing the pipes.
The shortbread is named in a white stripe running around the outside of the base: ROYAL SCOTCH SHORTBREAD.
The tin is certainly a great display piece - and is in really fabulous vintage condition - with no scratches or losses to the design - and nice and clean inside.
The rarity and very attractive nature of this vintage Shortbread tin is reflected in my asking price for this fine example
The diameter is just over 9 1/2 inches and the height is just under 2 inches.
If you like kitsch Scottish biscuit tins - please see my other one in my shop showing a gathering of pipers - of course, the two can be posted for the same price as the one.
Postage in the UK will be £4.95 for tracked postage with the Royal Mail.
