This is an attractive antique 19th-century Staffordshire figurine, and it dates to around the 1880s.
The figurine of a wee Scottish Shepherdess perched on a grassy knoll. She is shown seated on the back of a large lamb or sheep - as you often find in these cute wee antique figures - the sheep is shown in exaggerated size. Above them is a curved bough which is sprinkled with fruiting vines.
This figure is white and glazed - there are some little touches of applied colours all over the figurine to highlight areas, as photographed.
I love these Staffordshire figurines with these large sheep - they are totally delightful.
