This is a lovely antique lidded copper pot - it is a quality old Arts and Craft Item - all hand-made to a traditional design.
It dates to the later Victorian era - the end of the 19th century.
It is would have looked amazing sitting all polished up in a large country house kitchen. It is a nice heavy-duty pot with a tight-fitting lid
The lid has a large cast-iron ring on the top - which is riveted to the lid surface and held in place by a flat thick copper band - as photographed.
The copper has a nice patina of age to the outside - I have not cleaned the copper - but it has been given a light polish so that it has a nice shine to it - but still retains the old copper colouring. It has a routine and attractive overall warm metal tone - it looks strangely a bit streaky in my images - but it is not like that in "real life" - you will not be disappointed with it.
The pot is tinned inside - and has a copper edge around the rim -
The pot or wee bucket can be carried about quite easily - there is a large heavy-duty hand forged wrought iron swing handle - which has been stained black - the handle is held on the side of the pot with an iron ring - which attaches to a riveted black heart shape on the sides - as in my images.
It is certainly a very fine piece of antique kitchenalia - which is going to look fabulous in a period or rustic kitchen.
Dimensions: diameter at the widest point is 9 1/2 inches (24 cm). The height of the main body section is 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm) and to top of the handle is 10 inches (25 cm).
It is a very substantial piece of Victorian metalware - weighing unpacked 3.1 kg. It will have to be sent to you Parcelforce48 - which is about £10 due to size and weight combination.
It is probably more of a decorative item than a cooking pot - it would also make a nice storage container in a kitchen or on a fireside hearth.
I have owned this old copper container / bucket for many years now - but I am thinning out some of my more personal pieces in my Iconic Edinburgh online shop at the moment - this has sat under a little table in my living room as a decoration - and doesn't really go with my interior just now... it really needs a nice rustic kitchen to be seen to its best advantage.
Will be sent to you nice and clean - and in good antique condition.
Sadly, due to its weight - it would have to be sent to UK addresses only.
