This is another fine Victorian inkwell in my Iconic Edinburgh online Store.
This is a larger desktop example - with a pair of little masks at each side and matching pairs of cornucopia.
The forms are picked out with bands of strapwork and with shell motifs at each end.
The central area contains the inkwell and it is under the decorative dome - which swings back to reveal the little clear glass liner inside.
It is a substantial and very solid cast brass example.
The decoration is profuse and almost covers the entire upper surface.
My fine inkwell very Renaissance Revival / School of Fontainebleau in inspiration.
Dimensions: the width is 9 inches and the depth is 5 1/2 inches. The overall height to the top of the finial is 3 3/4 inches.
