This is a very fine Scottish Limited Edition Paperweight by Helen Macdonald.
It is entitled: A Drop in the Ocean.
It comes complete with its cardboard Caithness box and its issue certificate, as photographed.
It comes from a smaller edition of only 250 and it is numbered 61.
It is catalogued as being issued in 2007 - this one has a dated bar code on the bottom of the presentation box - this is for January 2009.
It is a nice large size measuring 4 1/2 inches in height - and with a diameter at the widest point of 3 1/4 inches.
The weight is a fine egg-shaped one - and a flat polished viewing facet to the front.
The base is clear with a thin central layer of white speckles representing waves created by a splash - and another pale blue and white similar speckled layer above the lower one. In the centre is a long teardrop-shaped air bubble. This is all seen through the large teardrop polished viewing facet. If you turn the weight around - the back of the weight is coated with a fine layer of vibrant cobalt blue glass. This gives a very three-dimensional feeling to the composition.
The weight is in lovely condition with no issues of any kind - it is fully signed on the base. This is another very fine weight by Macdonald. It looks much nicer in "real life" than in my photographs. Her works are always popular - and all the previous weights that I have had in my store by her have all sold out quickly. This is a difficult weight to source - and this is reflected in my asking price.
