This is a very unusual vintage 1970s Ukrainian / USSR Folk Art Plate.
It is a nice large size for display on the wall or on a plate display stand on a bureau or sideboard in a mid-century modern style interior.
It has a bit of a beast measuring 31.5 x 38.5 cm - and has a good it bit of weight to it. Sadly, I would not be able to post it outside of the UK.
It is an individual piece of majolica art pottery - and features images of men in the field harvesting the autumn crops. They are shown swinging scythes and cutting down meadow grasses. In the background - you can see the abstract forms of haystacks. The decoration on this plate is certainly very painterly - and it is "one-off" piece of ceramic art.
There is an applied white paper label on the back which reads: LKSF (LIVIV ceramic sculptural factory) Decorative Plate Ukraine USSR Majolica Hutsul Art Fund of USSR Mid 1970s.
It is in perfect condition with no issues. A fabulous piece of pottery and a most unusual design.
These vintage Ukrainian hand-decorated pieces are much sought after - and this is reflected in my asking price.
It will cost £10 to post to you in the UK with Parcelforce. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
