This is another lovely vintage paperweight - made in Scotland, probably by Vasart Glass in the 1960s. The glass dome has a more grey tone to the glass - rather than being crystal clear - this grey tone is often found in Vasart weights.
There is no maker's cane to be seen in this weight, and again this is consistent with what you might find in Vasart examples.
There is an attractive dark blue ground, into which the millefiori canes are placed. This is polished on the base.
The central cane is very pretty with an orange rose-type cane surrounded by blue and white petals - and then with an external rosette all around of pink and red canes in a circle.
There are 8 ribbon latticino canes forming half-length spokes - with blue, pink and white millefiori canes in each section. S/ome with orange-coloured centres, all as photographed.
The diameter at the widest point is 3 inches and the height is just over 2 inches. Weigh unpacked is 460 grams
No damages or scratches to the glass. Fair price for this fine vintage paperweight.
The weight will be sent to you in the UK with Royal Mail Recorded postage - this will cost £4.95 and applied to your order at the checkout.
