On offer here is a PAIR of Edinburgh Crystal Glasses - the shape is intended for smaller cocktails, sherbert, or perhaps for drinking toasts with champagne or sparkling wines.
This is a particularly nice pair of glasses with a slightly flared bowl and a little oval-shaped knop halfway down the stem.
They are a rarer shape - each glass is 5 1/8 inches in height. The top has a diameter of 3 1/8 inches and the foot is 2 5/8 inches.
They are in just lovely condition with no damages of any kind. They do not have an etched signature - but have their original stickers on near the rim, as photographed. These ones are hard to find and listed at a fair price.
Postage here is with the Royal Mail Recorded Post. In the UK, this will cost £4.95 and applied to your order at the checkout.
History:
The Edinburgh and Leith Flint Glassworks was established in the 1860's at Leith Walk Glassworks and later at Norton Park in Edinburgh.
In 1921 the glassworks became part of Webbs Crystal Glass Company.
In 1955, The Edinburgh and Leith Glassworks became Edinburgh Crystal, and the next decade saw further expansion and eventually the demolition of the old glassworks at Norton Park and new premises at Penicuik 10 miles south of Edinburgh.
Edinburgh Crystal went into administration in July 2006. Although the brand was taken over by the Waterford / Wedgwood Group the factory no longer exists and the brand is now discontinued.
