This is a very fine piece of vintage hand-blown Scottish art glass.
It dates to around the 1930s. It is a genuine Monart piece with the catalogue shape RB. Size X
It is a smaller size just over 6 inches in height.
My vase has the typical "double" polished pontil, that you find on pieces of Monart glass - the raised central disk would have originally had a gold paper Monart label on it - but sadly, this is no longer present. Not signed - but Monart pieces never had a signature - so that is not a worry.
There is NO etched Vasart mark and no later leaping salmon mark either - which again would back up my attribution to an earlier Monart piece.
It is certainly a pretty example of vintage Scottish glass with such attractive colours. The base section of the vase has a light-mottled sugar pink tone - which issues lots of slightly darker rose pink and lilac-coloured swirls. The rim section is a subtle peppermint-grey shade.
In good vintage condition with no damages.
It is a more simple and smaller piece of Mondart - with a height of 6 inches. The diameter at the top is 5 inches. The base has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches. The weight unpacked is just about 420 grams.
A fair asking price for a most collectable piece of old Scottish Art Glass. Postage will be with Royal Mail Medium Parcel Recorded post in the UK. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
