This is a vintage Japanese clockwork toy - probably an item for the more specialist tinplate toy collector.
It was made in the 1950s by the company Alps (Occupied Japan). He is now about 70 years old - so a rare survivor.
It is made of a tinplate covered in a brown felted material.
It has its original key - which has some rusting to the metal commensurate with age, as photographed.
This toy walks with a swinging tail and winking its eyes! Approx size 13cm high x 16cm long.
It is in pretty good condition with no major losses to the brown fabric covering the tinplate - and his little black metal hooves are in good condition. He retains his floppy ears - which are often missing. He has a little fabric beige decorative saddle on his back.
He has no losses and retains his little tail (which rotates when wound up).
UK postage with the Royal Mail Recorded Delivery will cost £4.95. This will be applied at checkout.
