This is a vintage 1950s Scottish stoneware jug.
My lovely jug was made by Buchan Pottery, which was based at Portobello, near Edinburgh (now closed).
This is a more unusual decorative pattern with green and black stripes around the rim and base - and in the center, there are abstract painterly forms resembling intertwined leaves with lots of little dots representing black berries.
The main body colour on this old jug - is not the more traditional blue glaze but more of a beige shade.
A much rarer pattern in the Buchan Stoneware range.
The cute squat-shaped jug or pitcher measures 5 inches in height and with a diameter at the widest point of 5 inches. The handle to spout is also 5 inches.
The weight unpacked is 550 grams.
It is in perfect condition with no damages.
