This is a little 1970s Carn Pottery Vase.
It is a nice tactile round shape - with a large flower head on one side - and a more random Brutalist abstract design on the other side.
This lovely piece of Cornish Art Pottery would have been designed by John Beusmans at Carn Pottery. The pottery was founded by Beusmans in 1971 at the Old Chapel, Nancledra near Penzance.
It is stamped to the base: Carn Pottery and then inscribed in ink N46 - which is probably the shape or pattern mark.
I always love Carn Pottery's use of the grey and blue mottled glazes used on the main body of its pots. and the spindly tube lining to pick out the designs.
Dimensions: The height is 6 inches. The width is 5 1/2 inches and the depth is 2 3/4 inches
The weight unpacked is 370 grams.
