This is a fine vintage 1950s Celtic Style Sterling Silver Brooch.
It was designed by the celebrated Scottish silversmith, Robert Allison. The design features a central image of a Viking Ship and around the edge is an interlaced knotwork border.
It is marked with the maker's initials on the reverse RA and has a Glasgow hallmark for the year 1951- as photographed.
It has a locking c-clasp catch, as shown, The catch and pin are nice and secure. The tip of the pin is nice and sharp.
The diameter of the brooch is just over 1 1/2 inches (4 cm).
It is sold in nice vintage condition - very clean and all shiny.
