This is another attractive piece of vintage Phoenician Glass in my store.
It takes the form of a large perfume bottle with its original ball-shaped clear glass stopper.
It is in excellent damage-free condition. It has its original glass stopper and etched signature on the base, as photographed.
It dates to the early 1990s.
The Phoenician Glass Company was founded on Manoel Island, Malta in the 1980s. The founder was Leonard Sullivan - who was a former worker at the celebrated Mdina Glass factory. Many of the pieces from this date are very similar to designs made by Michael Harris. Phoenician Glass was named after the ancient civilization that colonized Malta during the 1st Millenium BC.
The perfume bottle of bulbous form and comes with its original fitted clear glass stopper. The main body section is shaped like a ball - with three slightly flattened sides.
The bottle is covered all over with entwined ribbon-like iridescent trails which are all melded together. The neck and rim are a shiny blue-purple glass as is the base section. I hope that my images have done this piece justice.
Dimensions: overall height including the stopper is 5 inches. The diameter at the widest point is 3 inches.
It is in good condition with no damages.
It will cost £4.95 to post to UK addresses and this will be with Royal Mail Tracked and applied at checkout.
